Cuernavaca, second impressions

I arrived in Mexico City yesterday morning and was picked up by my friends in Cuernavaca who live here with whom I’m spending Christmas. They are great people and lots of fun to be around. I felt more comfortable in Mexico this time since the last time I was here in January. Feeling confident in a language is a big help and my spanish is really taking off.

Earlier this evening a helicopter flew overhead and this evening I saw the same helicopter on the evening news with mexican soldiers abseiling down. They were after some delincuentes, possibly narcotraffickers. That is a very rare occurence in Cuernavaca, which is definitely nowhere near the center of that stuff and I’m sure it will stay that way since most problems are at the US-Mexico border.

I went out and took some photos yesterday and this morning. I love exploring and taking photos, interacting with people and getting great shots, always a fun challenge.

On my website you can see a photo essay from a previous visit.
